Open Music Night

microphone and music notes

Mar 6, 2019through Dec 1, 2019

When: First and third Wednesdays of each month
Where: Community room
Time: 6:30 to 7:30 Bring a music stand if you have one.

Food and drinks are permitted (no alcohol).

We can make copies of music to pass out. SINGING IS REQUIRED! We do need a few guidelines though, this is a library, so we can't have loud instruments.

1. Acoustic string instruments of all types are welcome: Ukuleles, guitars, lap dulcimers, harps, hammered dulcimers, banjos, violins etc. No brass or drum kits.
2. Box snares and bodhrans are permitted, but only two per session. If more come, take turns.
3. Electric guitars and basses are iffy! You must bring all your own gear and keep them turned to quiet levels.
4. Free reed instruments might have to be on case by case. Harmonicas are fine, bagpipes are out, small accordions or concertinas should be OK as long as they are not too loud. Cajun accordions might be a problem.
5. We will have to set up a donation jar to cover the cost of any copies of music we need to make.

Any question, ask Mark Reinemann. The library phone number is 513 897-4826.

Vintage Base Ball Festival

May 3, 2019through May 5, 2019

May 3rd - 5th, 2019

Vintage Baseball Festival Event

We are going to have a weekend of Vintage Base Ball with games being played between different teams all day Saturday and all day Sunday. Bring the family out to see how the game was played 150 years ago and marvel at how much it has changed over the years. Kids and adults alike will be amazed at how the game was played.

These teams play by the original rules of base ball along with vintage uniforms and equipment. It is truly amazing to watch them play the game the way that it was originally intended to be played. The kids will not believe how they can be up close to the players and see how the game they know so well started off.

Between games you can wander through the village and check out all of our period authentic buildings. All buildings will be open and House Parents present to talk with you about the building and the Village. We will also have some great food for sale at our kitchen.

Hours: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Cost: $5 per person 16 and older which will get you in to see as many of the games per day as you would like.
