Learn about the life of a union soldier during the Civil War as you take part in the training.  Ladies, join the Soldiers’ Aid Society while attending the afternoon tea.  Enjoy demonstrations and activities for all ages.  Stay for the Solders’ dance @ 4 pm on Saturday.

Fried Eggplant Caprese
:
Sliced eggplant is breaded and fried, stacked with fresh sliced tomatoes, basil leaves, fresh mozzarella, and drizzled with balsamic vinegar reduction

Second Course
Strawberry Spinach Salad:

Baby spinach with feta, creamy avocado, scallions, and poppyseed dressing

#1 NY Strip Steak with Chimichurri Sauce and Roasted Herb Potatoes
:
Thick cut NY strip steak grilled and sliced, topped with an Argentinean garlic herb sauce and served with spring herb roasted red potatoes

#2 Lemon Piccata Chicken with Wild Rice:

Chicken breast pijard with a lemon caper sauce and toasted garlic wild rice
#3 Sesame Crusted Tuna with Carrot Mash, Pickled Vegetable Slaw, and Wasabi Sauce
:
Sesame crusted ahi tuna is seared rare and served atop gingered carrot mash, pickled red onion, cucumber, carrot, peppers, and daikon and drizzled with a cool wasabi sauce

A small baked meringue topped with tart lemon curd and fresh blueberry sauce
 #2 Toasted Coconut Cake:

Coconut infused vanilla cake layered with coconut buttercream frosting and covered in toasted coconut.

Cook Public Library will be bringing author Shelley Shepard Gray to Waynesville, Ohio at the Quaker Heights Care Community on Tuesday, May 10 at 6 pm.  Shelly is beloved for writing inspirational Amish Romances for Avon Inspire and historical romances as Shelley Gray for Harper Collins Christian Publishing. Booksellers from Books ‘N’ More in Wilmington will be on hand to sell Shelley’s books on site.  Invite all your friends for a wonderful evening out with this delightful author.  Quaker Heights Care Community is located at 514 High Street, Waynesville, Ohio.

May 14th 2016 Recycle Rally
When: Saturday, May 14th 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where: Wayne Local Schools
What: We will be accepting large items such as couches, chairs, bikes, lawn
mowers, white goods, tires, metal, box springs, etc.
LCNB Shred Day event will be held on site, too!
How much: Nominal CASH ONLY fees will apply for the following services:
 Freon removal (refrigerators and air conditioners: $15/ unit
 Tires NO RIMS: Light car or truck: $3
Semi tires: $6
Tractor tires: $15
Good to know: It is a felony to travel with more than 10 tires per vehicle per ORC
